My four college roommates and I started this event in 1981. My Dad, Leon, played for the first time in 1982, and he never missed a year until he passed away at tournament time in 2011. He loved March Madness, and like everything else in his life, he turned it into a ritual. Monday morning was prep time, reviewing the brackets in the Citizen’s Voice at the island in the kitchen. On Monday night, he employed a sophisticated decision model:
It was actually a very successful model. He’d put it in the mail (he got a senior citizen
dispensation on the computer entry) on Tuesday after making a copy at the post office. Then
he’d follow closely. When my Dad passed away in 2011, we named the event after him
because of his love of March Madness.
Ciesz sie grami!
